LIVING OUR FAITH

Community Service

As Catholics we are called by our faith to help those in need.  In an effort to promote stewardship and empathy for others, our students are involved in community service.

Grades Six through Eight --- Each student in grades Six through Eight is required to complete either 6, 7 or 8 service hours per semester.  The number of hours correlates to the student’s grade level.

School wide Service Projects --- Throughout the year, the entire student body engages in many “collections” that benefit different organizations in need.  Collections have included gently used books for Mustard Seed School and Wellspring, diapers for STEAC, socks for Loaves and Fishes and canned food for the KCRA Channel 3 Canned Food Drive.

Service Projects by Grade ---  Each class will often participate in a service project.  Although these projects may vary from year to year, they are tied to curriculum or to a special interest of the class.  Past projects have included sending birthday greetings to the elderly, collecting toys for children in a Philippine Hospital and collecting food for the Yolo County Food Bank.
