Tom Yurkovic is Principal
Mr. Yurkovic is a product of Catholic Education having graduated from St. Rose Elementary School in Santa Rosa and St. Elizabeth High School in Oakland. As the oldest of nine children, he has always loved working with young people of all ages. He is a graduate of San Diego State University where he was a Distinguished Military Graduate of their AFROTC program and was commissioned as an officer in the U.S. Air Force. Mr. Yurkovic returned to San Diego State after his tour in the Air Force and began a graduate program in Education where he eventually got his teaching credential and taught in the public schools in San Diego and Albuquerque, NM. He began his career as a Catholic educator in the Napa Valley working for the Christian Brothers and is beginning his 26th year in Catholic Education. He became a principal with the Diocese of Sacramento after completing a graduate Master’s and Administrative Credential programs at Chico State University and is beginning his 19th year as a Catholic School Principal. He has worked as a Catholic School Principal both in Sacramento Diocese and the Diocese of Harrisburg, PA.  

   
Beverly Juhnke is Administrative Assistant
Received BA in history with a minor in Education, Mount Marty College, South Dakota, 1968.

Experience: Mrs. Juhnke taught high school in South Dakota, 1968-1970; St. James, 1983 to present.
   
Jennifer Sweet teaches Kindergarten
Received BS in English and Elementary Education, Kansas State University; MS in Education, University of California, Davis. California Multiple Subject and Reading Specialist Credentials.

Experience: Mrs. Sweet taught sixth grade in Topeka, KS; substitute teaching in Irving, TX and Yolo and Solano counties, CA; Summer School Director, Davis Parent Nursery School; St James, 1989 to present.
   

Carrie Lyons teaches First Grade

Margaret Bronk teaches Second Grade
Received BA in Child Development, California State University, Sacramento, 1996; California Multiple Subject and Special Education Credentials.

Experience: Ms. Bronk taught kindergarten, first grade and junior high religion, Immaculate Conception School, 1990-93; St. James 1993 to present.
   
Carolyne Kenny-Wuertz teaches Third Grade
Received BS at National University of Ireland at Galway, 1983; HDipEd 1984; MA in Education, Boston University, 1992.

Experience: Mrs. Wuertz taught chemistry and physical sciences at Monsignor Ryan Memorial High School, Boston; K-3 classroom, Bavarian International School, Munich, Germany; St. James, 2002 to present.
   

Theresa Mariani teaches Fourth Grade
Received BS in Psychology, Santa Clara University 1978:
Multiple Subject Teaching Credential from UC Berkeley 1980
Experience: Mrs. Mariani taught in public school 1981-1982; St. James School 1999-2003, 2006 to present.

   
Paul Agnew teaches Fifth Grade
Received BA, Benedictine College, Kansas, 1985; MA in Educational Administration, Santa Clara University, 1995; California Multiple and Single Subject Credentials, with Math Supplement.

Experience: Mr. Agnew taught in Sierra Leone with the Peace Corps, 1985-87; St. Mary's, Gilroy, CA, 1987-97; Our Lady of Grace, West Sacramento, CA, 1997-2000; St. James, 2000-present.
   

Vigdis Asmundson teaches Sixth Grade
Received BA in Biological Sciences and Classical Languages and Literature, University of California, Davis, 2000; California Multiple Subject Credentials in Biology, Literature and Foundation Level Math.

Experience: Ms. Asmundson taught math and science in summer school, 2001-04; Math and science, Woodland, CA, 2001; K-8 Aide, Deering School, Alaska, 2002-03; English in Sangju, Korea, 2004; St.James 2005 to present.

   
Katherine Michals teaches Seventh Grade
Received BA in Chemistry, University of California, Davis, 1987; Graduate work in education, St. Mary's College, Moraga, 1997-99. Recipient of Johns Hopkins Award for Excellence in Teachng.

Experience: Ms.Michals taught Physical Education, 1987-89; Seventh grade, St. James, 1990 to present.
 
   

David Perry teaches Eighth Grade
Received a B.S. in Business Administration, and M.B.A. and an M.A. in Instructional Leadership all from St. Mary's College of California.  I also earned a Single Subject Teaching credential, as well as an Administrative Services Credential.  My experience includes: 2000-2004 Concord High School: Teacher, Student Activities Director, Academy Director and Coach. 2004-2006 Encina High School Vice Principal.

   
Rodney Bodine teaches Physical Education and Jr.High Math
Received BA in Physical Education, California State University, Fresno, 1989; California Credentials in Physical Education and Math.

Experience: Mr.Bodine taught Mathematics at Lee Jr. High, Woodland, CA 1994-95; St. James from 1995 to present.
   
Eric Reyer teaches Science Grades 5-8, Science Enrichment Program Grades 1-4
Received BS in Physical Anthropology, minor in Art History, University of California, Davis, 1997; California Single Subject Credentials in Chemistry and General Science.

Experience: Mr. Reyer taught chemistry at John F. Kennedy High School, Sacramento, CA, 1998-2002; Science, St. James, 2002 to present.
   
Carrie Ceniseroz-Rothman, Director of K-6 Visual Arts Program and Jr. High Art Curriculum
Received BA in Art and Spanish, Whittier College, CA, 1975; graduate studies in Anthropology, Escuela National de Antropologia, Mexico City, in Art at UCLA and CSLA, and in Museum Studies at JFK University, Orinda, CA
.
Experience: Ms. Ceniseroz-Rothman developed the Visual Arts Program and taught at St. James, 1998-present.
   

Vicki Davis, Librarian and Storyteller
Received BS in Elementary Education, University of New Mexico.

Experience: Mrs. Davis taught first and fifth grades in New Mexico, 1969-71. She coordinates the Accelerated Reader Program and automated the St. James Library, 2000. St. James Librarian 1983 to present.

   
Mary Klisiewicz teaches choral music and directs the Choir
Received BS in Education
, River Falls State College, Wisconsin. Graduate coursework in music, University of Wisconsin, St. Cloud, and University of California, Davis.

Experience: Mrs. Klisiewicz taught primary grades for nine years in Wisconsin; St. James School 1978 to present.
   
Charlotte Strutzel teaches the Computer Curriculum
Received BS in Textile Design, University of California, Davis. Additional coursework, California Polytechnic State University, San Luis Obispo.

Experience: Ms. Strutzel worked as Computer Specialist in industry from 1990-96; taught computer education in the Davis Unified School District, 1999-2006; St. James School 2006 to present.
