Field
Trips
Field Trips are designed to supplement and enrich the classroom
curriculum. Field trips generally fall into three broad
categories:
Living
History:
Past examples
include; the Fourth grade overnight trip to Coloma, the Third
grade trip to the one room schoolhouse in Woodland and the Fifth
grade trip to a reenactment of a Civil War battlefield.
Art and
Culture:
Saint James
School benefits from its close proximity to the UC Davis Mondavi
Center for the Performing Arts. Students have the opportunity
to be exposed to a wide array of national and international
music, dance and theater groups. In addition, students visit
galleries in the Sacramento and Davis areas.
Curriculum Related:
Prime examples
are the weeklong Sixth grade Outdoor Education trip to Walker
Creek Ranch in Marin County, the kindergarten trip to the
Sacramento Zoo and excursions to local farms.
